About Foresters Insurance

Foresters FinancialTM began in 1874 as a Fraternal Benefit Society that focused on providing life insurance to everyday families. And today, we continue that focus while building stronger communities and helping our members live their best life.

On Oct. 1, 2020, Foresters and Canada Protection Plan joined forces in an amalgamation that benefits advisors and their customers. The union brings together the industry-leading sales and marketing power of Canada Protection Plan with the well-capitalized, purpose-driven Foresters.

As we’ve grown, we’ve become an international financial services provider with assets of $18.7 billion CAD and a surplus of $2.0 billion CAD.1,2 Foresters has maintained our “A” (Excellent) rating from A.M. Best for 21 straight years thanks to our consistent operating performance and excellent balance sheet strength.3

As of December 31, 2021, The Independent Order of Foresters Life Insurance Capital Adequacy Test (LICAT) ratio was 176.3%.

In 2021, Foresters paid $901 million CAD in insurance claims and benefits, and paid out a total of $10.2 million CAD in dividend4 payouts to eligible policyholders. For over 23 years, Foresters dividend interest rate has remained at or above 5.25%.

Live Well Critical Illness Insurance8

Covers four conditions and offers a simple application process with coverage up to $100,000 without paramedical exam and lab work. No policy fee, built-in Return of Premium at Death and unique Term 80 option that is competitive with other insurers Term 75.

Covers 25 conditions with coverage up to $1,000,000. No policy fee, built-in Return of Premium at Death and unique Term 80 option that is competitive with other insurers Term 75.
